Studying again for the CFA exam. I hope I won’t fail again because the exam is really expensive and I’ve pretty much wasted a lot of my time studying. I hope my strategy this time around would work out. This time I would stick with the curriculum books and not even take a look at the reviewer since it really turned my exam results upside down. The topics that I read from the curriculum turned out great while those that I read through the reviewer sucked. I’ll write notes this time around and study the calculator’s functionality more. Even though my world is falling apart now due to financial problems at home and my dad’s sickness, I hope that every thing will turn out fine.

Lots of things on my mind today…..

CFA results

Failure is something that none of us want to experience but sometimes it just happens. Today, I received a really sad news, for 4 months I studied rigorously for my exam but still failed to make the cut. But that’s life. Sometimes we just fail. We may have our shortcomings but we could still stand back up and prove ourselves once again. Even with that amount of time, I wasn’t really ready yet for the exam as I was not yet confident enough with some of the subject matters such as the quantitative methods which was one of the subjects that pulled my grade down to fail the whole exam. I was still unable to understand the logic behind the formulas and all so I didn’t understood much of it really. I had a very similar experience with regard to this actually. When I was in college, I did not reach the required grade for our accounting basics class for the first try for both the accounting basic 1 and 2 and had to take it again but when I took the qualifying exam, I passed it with just one try. In relation to my most recent experience, I can say that most probably, this is just a stepping stone and there are greater things for me after this. I will try to take the exam again on December since I do not have the money yet for the exam fees for the June exam. I will try my best this time to understand the logic behind the formulas more like how I do it in accounting. Besides, I did really great on the accounting part of the exam for the CFA. I just have to learn how to study because that’s one thing that I’ve never gotten a chance to learn in school.

  • In class: 1+1=2
  • Exercises: 1+2+1=4
  • Test: John buys 4 oranges. He eats one and gives another to Ted. Calculate the sun's mass.

I needed a friend and you just couldn’t be that friend. That’s when I knew you don’t give a damn about me.
